North Puget Sound Area NA
Service Opportunities

HOME There is only one requirement for NA membership, "a desire to stop using," but there are many benefits. One of these is the priviledge of service. One of the forms of service for members of NA is to serve on an area service committee or a subcommittee. There are several subcommittees in the NPSA, each of which fills an important role in keeping NA alive and healthy in our area.

Dances, picnics, campouts, special speaker meetings -
these events are put on by the area activities subcommittee.
Activities like these can provide a greater sense community for our
local NA Fellowship and provide additional area income.

Activities Subcommittee meets the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the
month at the food coop in Mt. Vernon.

Public Relations Subcommittee

The general mission of the Public Relations Subcommittee (PR) is to inform addicts and others in the community of the availability of recovery in NA. PR is responsible for the phoneline services, the area website, public service annnouncements, keeping NA schedules and Informational Pamphlets available to the public. Additionally, the PR committee conducts panels that carry the NA message to addicts who often have no other way of hearing our message. They bring Narcotics Anonymous to addiction treatment centers, mental health facilities, correctional institutions, and anywhere that addicts cannot attend a public meeting.
