Emerging Designer Geordie Campbell's En Pointe for Latest Collection
Geordie Campbell's latest collection for fall 2026 is a bold and playful take on the designer's signature juxtaposition of femininity and masculinity. Inspired by the so-bad-they're-good proportions of the '80s, boxing, and ballet, the collection titled "Rough Pointe" packs a graceful punch.
"The brand is all about that juxtaposition between femininity and masculinity and trying to find where you fit," said Campbell. The collection ranges from pointelle tops dotted with ditsy florals, tulle tutus, and dupion silk boxer shorts to tough denim button-ups and laser-etched jeans.
A rewatch of the movie "Billy Elliot," which follows a young boy who rejects boxing in favor of ballet, was his starting point for the collection. But there was a personal bent to it, too. Campbell explained, "When I was younger, my school had a ballet extracurricular activity, and I really wanted to do it. My parents never let me, but I would watch the other kids go into their ballet lessons wearing these tutus and knit tops that crossed over in the middle and tied at the side, which were just so cute."
Knit wrap tops and trousers with tulle frill detailing nodded to that, while a T-shirt printed with the text "Glory Boy" is a fresh take on the brand's bestselling Ts emblazoned with its slogan, British Boy, and asterix logo.
Campbell said his direct-to-consumer business is strong, which is why he focused on growing his wholesale presence this time around. After buyer feedback from last season, he put on his commercial cap to design 52 garments — his largest yet. The collection launched with a look book styled by i-D magazine's deputy editor Alex Kessler, and Campbell said the collection would be presented to buyers in a showroom during Paris' June menswear fashion week.
